The land of the midnight sun, and 40,000 earth quakes a year. It has breath taking views. From the fabulous mountain views, to the breath taking northern lights.
With all that beauty, there is a price. It's a rugged land, once you leave the city behind. It can be unforgiving. The cost of living here is one of the most expensive places in the United States. Housing is about par with the rest of the states; however, the food and other items is expensive compared to the lower 48. Everything must be shipped or flown up here. Forget everything you see on "The Price is Right". Ten pounds of potatoes will be $5.99 not the $2.99 that you are used to paying. Milk, eggs, etc., it all has a mark up.
