What can I say, lost sight of this one. It was flat since Dec. Then it seems the worst is over. Many see Macy's as getting its act together. Space with in existing stores is being re-invented, most of the cuts are over with. Earnings coming May 10th. I'm still leery on retail.
12/28/17 number of shorts are at 19.8%, RSI and MACD going negative, and volume is down. 100 day moving average is at $21.67 Santa has moved on, but maybe a better entry price on "M" may still be a possibility.
Macy's Inc. is laying off around 5,000 employees and closing 100 stores. With the holidays behind us, even Macy's Inc. is recognizing hard times ahead. (The store closings were announced in 2016) Retail is a sector to be wary of, once again. Usually for investors, these price cuts usually mean good news; however, I don't see it that way. Look at J.C.Penney, Sears, and now Macey's Inc. ? Time will tell on these.
